Get inspired! When you've hit a road block to your decorating style or decorating scheme, look to books and magazines that focus in on the style you happen to like. Think about the furniture/home goods stores that you tend to linger in and fantasize about. Do you go into Pottery Barn and sit at every sofa and chair and dream about what your home will look like once you strike it rich? I know I do! Well, you don't have to be rich to get the look you want for your home. You just need to get inspired and creative. My favorite look is the cottage style, vintage look. So, I look to magazines like Cottage Style or Country Living to draw my inspiration from. They oftentimes focus on vintage finds and vintage charm, thus it's perfect for my taste. I cut pictures out and then head out to antique shops to look for similar finds. Trust me, you'll find them! At a fraction of the price! Just be patient and take a friend. It will take time to decorate your home, but you will be so happy with the end result, that it will be truly worth it. Enjoy the ride and the hunt. Don't be haste and pile a bunch of stuff together to "just get it done." It will never feel like "home" if you do that and... you need a home.Happy Decorating!
