Jonathan Adler – Herald of Happy Chic
“If your heirs won’t fight over it, we won’t make it”Jonathan Adler is an Ambassador of the Damn Happy. Yancey introduced me to his work some time ago, and I love his bright colors, his happy mojo for design, his home furnishings and his interior design work.
His popularity is soaring and he needs no intro from me, but I had to include him on our blog, since of all the designers out there that we know, his work is the closest to the Mojo and Mod vibe we are creating with our own ModHome collection.
Starting out as a potter, he launched his home furnishings line in 1993. Jonathon now operates 11 retails stores nationwide which includes decorative objects, bedding, furniture, rugs, lamps, bedding, tabletop, and of course pottery.
He also designs homes for luxury clients, hotels and casinos. Interestingly Wikipedia reminded me he designed “the retro-glam interior of the “real” Malibu Dream House for Barbie’s 50 (th) Anniversary", which Yancey shared with me months ago. It was a blast in Pink! Complete with rows and rows of pink shoes in the closet.
