Blue. Absolutely, without a doubt, my favorite color. Not just any blue either. It must be a vintage, antiqued blue. I have it splashed and sprinkled throughout my entire house. When decorating with vintage charm, many people believe that they must stick to the safe colors. Brown, brown and more brown. Or, they believe that to achieve the "shabby chic" look they must stick to white, white and more white. Not true! Blue is one of those colors that is so beautiful and versatile that it can look amazing in vintage decor. If you have decorated entirely in white, throw in a vintage blue buffet or a antique blue side table or galvanized bucket with flowers within. You will be pleased at the outcome. It has the same effect in vintage decor, as a view of the ocean has on the eyes and the mind. It's a breath of fresh air. It is a reminder of the skies and of the sea. It is truly grand.
